Movembers…. Assemble!

November is no longer November.  Nope. It’s MOvember. Remember that. November went from being this month that I hardly gave any thought to–save for Thanksgiving of course–to one of my favorite month’s of the year.  Why is that?  Because all month long, me and my fellow Mo’s get to grow glorious mustaches to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. So far, I’ve raised $10 and me and Wolfman’s team has raised $35 total.  Hopefully this post will change that.  Even if you pledge a dollar, that makes a difference. To check out my Mospace, head to: http://mobro.co/adamthomas3 Our team’s…

What Football Week Is It ?

Week 9? Week 10? Does it even matter anymore? The rebuttal to myself is: Yes. Yes it does. Get with the program, Randy. The re-rebuttal to that is: Looks like I went 9 for 12 with the spreads last week. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that I am with it. Ok. This is getting weird. Truth is, I did go 9 for 12 last week, my finest week yet. Let’s keep the good times rolling with this week’s picks! Denver -4 @ Cincinnati – Andy Dalton’s performance has been lackluster in the month of October. Peyton…

Iguodala, You’re On An 8 Seed Now!

That’s just one of the many things I heard being yelled at Andre Iguodala last Wednesday during the 76ers home opener versus the Nuggets. Yes, Iggy was in town, fresh from his departure after 8 years of being a Sixer, and fans let him have it. When Matt Cord gave Iguodala his introduction, the crowd response was pretty mixed. Half boos, half clapping. If Iguodala never made the statements about hating the criticism in Philadelphia during his tenure, I wonder what the overall feeling would be. I mean, there’s no reason to really boo him is there? He did…

I Make Picks, Ya’ll Win Money

Not really. It’s just getting hard to come up with titles other than Week 8 Picks, ya feel me? Hell, you might win some money, though. Last week I went 6 for 13. Yikes. Let’s get on a path to redemption shall we? THE PICKS!!! New England -7 @ St. Louis – New England is hardly looking like the team of yesteryear, but I still believe they are going to win this game. St. Louis tends to score late, and New England tends to give up a lot of points late. Regardless, I’m taking New England -7. Indianapolis +3.5…

The Fans are Chanting Barry…Manilow

1.) I watched exactly one pitch of the World Series yesterday, and luckily for me, it was Pablo Sandoval’s first home run.  Good stuff. But, sorry World Series, baseball is boring and I had AMC’s Halloween marathon to keep me busy. With that being said, did anyone else see the clip on Deadspin? If not, let me summarize. Barry Zito has just hit an RBI single (I think) and here is where it gets interesting, allow me to post the transcript between the wonderful (sarcasm) announcers Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Buck: How about Zito? And how about 4…

Surfing as a Spectator Sport

This is not a sport we talk about often on the Headrush, but it is one that I am increasingly finding enjoyable as a spectator sport – Surfing. Nearly all the events are streamed live online, the latest one being the Rip Curl Pro Portugal (http://live.ripcurl.com/?portugal2012#popup-1). Each event website has interesting commentary, an excellent Heat Analyzer feature where you can watch highlights from previous match-ups, and video extras. Here are highlights from the Final (if you read the comments on the video there was a bit of controversy, which will be addressed later): Portugal Final What makes it so…

The Super Quick Picks

It’s Thursday! That means the games for Week 7 start tonight. That means my picks for this week are going to be just as good as last week! First, how did I do last week? 8 of 13. Not too shabby, I must say. I called the Jets game. Called the Bucs. Almost called the Cowboys minus half a point. Second, if you haven’t noticed, our latest Tweet doesn’t show up in Chooch’s quote box anymore!! Twitter has literally revamped their entire API, meaning all the thousands of people who used to embed Tweets without their gay-ass widget can’t…
