Movembers…. Assemble!

November is no longer November.  Nope. It’s MOvember. Remember that.

November went from being this month that I hardly gave any thought to–save for Thanksgiving of course–to one of my favorite month’s of the year.  Why is that?  Because all month long, me and my fellow Mo’s get to grow glorious mustaches to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.

So far, I’ve raised $10 and me and Wolfman’s team has raised $35 total.  Hopefully this post will change that.  Even if you pledge a dollar, that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance to everyone who donates!
Now, onto the column…

1.) I am running in a half marathon (a what?) tomorrow and I gotta say, I was a little nervous but now that I have a semi-stache going, I am hoping that it will power me through Prefontaine style.  We shall see.

2.) Speaking of The League, Timothy Olyphant’s guest appearance as a sushi chef was high comedy.  I think this has been their best season yet.

3.) I don’t know if it’s because of the mustache, but I have been listening to A LOT of Pink Floyd lately. Especially, The Wall. I’ve got to say, I don’t think that there is a better build up in rock and roll history than the one that comes between “The Happiest Days of Our Lives’ and ‘Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2.”

Back in high school, me and my buddies used to always listen to Pink Floyd.  I think they were all I listened to during my sophomore year.  We’d also gather to watch their live concert ‘Pulse’ every single weekend. I am not kidding when I say that we probably gathered at a friend’s house and watched that concert on VHS six saturdays in a row. Yeah, that’s how we rolled.

Then about a year later, I remember trying to find new music so out went my Pink Floyd CDs and in went…wait for it…HOOBASTANK! No joke. This is probably the most embarrassing sentence I’ve ever written on theheadrush, but it’s TRUE! I remember listening to that song, “So why are you running AWAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!????” to get pumped up before soccer games.  Man. That was really lame.

Haha, but it just goes to show you, when you’re in high school, you’re an idiot.

As for the games this weekend, I like:

The Raiders +7.5, Texans +1.5 and the Cowboys -1/2

But then again, I am the ever-optimistic Raiders fan so take that pick with a grain of salt.
