University of Delaware Hits Texas

Tonight, if you didn’t know, is the NCAA Division I Football Championship game, and the U of D, good ol’ Delaware, is on the verge of taking that title home. The Delaware Blue Hens enter as the No.3 seed with a (12-2) record, and face the terribly bad, simply overrated, Eastern Washington (12-2.) (cue the boos) As coach K.C. Keeler stated, “The hay is in the barn, we’ve prepared well, and we are expecting to play well.”  Let’s hope for U of D’s sake, that the hay, is in fact, in the barn. I’m stuck at work until 9,…

The Fantasy Recap : Learn From Our Mistakes

After a Tuesday night debacle with the Eagles, most people’s fantasy leagues are over. The champions have been crowned, and my fantasy play off runs have come to an end. Funny enough, Adam and I both ran leagues this year, and we took first place in opposite ones. It was my first championship victory in 4 years of fantasy football. This was Adam’s 2nd year in a row in my league. What can I say? If that isn’t a staple of sports blog credibility, then I don’t know what is. First the recap of “Carlos Ruiz los loco” in…

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a good holiday.  Thanks for all the love and support we’ve gotten over our first year. ESPN is showing basketball all day, so here’s a little gem from a few days ago where Dwight Howard tries saving a ball from out of bounds, and instead drills it off of a Spurs player.  May or may not be intentional. It’s also Adam’s birthday today, so special shout out to him. Happy Holidays guys!

76ers Named Top 10 Power Ranking… Then Promptly Lose.

Surfing the net earlier today, I came across an actual ESPN story that featured the 76ers.  The reason being that Philadelphia happened to be one of the most “overlooked” teams in the NBA, and that they were listed in the top 10 NBA power teams in the league.  I have no idea what that means.  I was just excited to see some national coverage for Philadelphia that wasn’t Michael Vick being the catalyst for a New York meltdown. How does a team like the 76ers respond?  They lose.  Badly.  45 points to be exact.  The 76ers started the 8…

The Perils of Fantasy

It’s about that time of year.  Your fantasy playoffs are starting, or already have started, and hopefully, you are still in them.  There’s probably nothing more frustrating then pouring your heart and soul into collectively gathering the finest crime-free athletes the NFL has to offer, and then watching them produce zero offense in crunch time.  Not their crunch time, your crunch time. I’ve got 3 leagues this year.  2 for money, 1 for free.  Guess which one I’m doing the best in?  Thaaaaaat’s right, the free one.  Infact, I’m 11-2, coming off my  bye week, and Philip Rivers just…

Cliff Lee signs with Philadelphia Phillies

Aaaaand the award for greatest pitching staff of all time goes to? Seriously?  We are going to have Roy Oswalt, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, and now Cliff Lee??  I see a double ROYbow. Cliff Lee announced around midnight that he would be signing a 5 year deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.  Somehow we’ve become the Miami Heat of baseball, and the best part is we’ve basically profited from the sadness and disappointment of the New York Yankees. Adam texted me at 5 pm Tuesday afternoon, and mentioned this might happen.  How skeptical we were. I also want to note that Adam destroyed me…
