NFL Myth: Teams Tank Games for Better Draft Picks

After the Raiders shutout the KC Chiefs and put on an absolute clinic about how to properly kick field goals on Sunday, I went over to Raiderfans.net to see how the Raider Nation was reacting. It was, after all, our first win in 7 weeks. And hey, even if it was a win over a terrible (and I mean tuuuuurrrrible) team, I’ll take what I can get at this point. A win is a win. So what did I find? Fans bitching and complaining about the win!  And why is that, you may ask?  A.) It hurt our draft…

Who is Frank Ocean?

1.) I mean honestly?  The only time I ever heard of him was when one of my soccer players was listening to him on their Ipod before one of our games. I didn’t really think much of him until I check out all of these “best of” lists and guess who is number one on practically all of them? Frank Ocean! So I go to check out his songs, I listen to them and I think….meh. I mean, any album that has lyrics like: “Set the cheetahs on the loose, there’s a thief out on the move, underneath out…

Overrated: Inspirational Speeches

1.) Last night the Saints played the Falcons and this morning, they showed a hilarious video of Drew Brees before the game just screaming all sorts of nonsense to his team.  It was something along the lines of: “THIS IS OUR DIVISION! WE KNOW IT AND THEY KNOW IT! NOW LETS SHOW THEM WHO OWNS THIS DIVISION! GRAAHAGAGAHAHEHEHE!” Apparently, the Falcons didn’t know it. After the speech, Brees threw 5 interceptions, played like a damned fool and lost the game for his team. It all goes to show you that A.) Drew Brees is an idiot and B.) Inspirational…

Beasts of the Southern Wild, Brunch, NFL

1.) I’m just going to keep this short and sweet: Beasts of the Southern Wild is the best movie I’ve seen in a long, long time. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out. It is MAGICAL! 2.) Also, magical?  BRUNCH! Went out to a delicious brunch with some friends yesterday and I gotta say, there may be a few things better in the world than mimosa’s and steak and eggs at 11:30 in the morning, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. DELICIOUS! 3.) I am officially done…

Hope Gets Hitched

Hope Solo married Jerramy Stevens on Tuesday–as some astute commentor on Yahoo! pointed out, ‘Who gets married on a Tuesday?’–but the real story is what went down BEFORE they got married.  Because I am lazy, allow me to copy and paste the police report from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer courtesy of Yahoo!: “According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Marcus Solo (Hope’s brother) was the one who called Kirkland police, and when police came to the scene, he had blood on his forehead and knees, and a bruised eye. Hope solo then emerged from the house, intoxicated and with a laceration on her…

Movembers…. Assemble!

November is no longer November.  Nope. It’s MOvember. Remember that. November went from being this month that I hardly gave any thought to–save for Thanksgiving of course–to one of my favorite month’s of the year.  Why is that?  Because all month long, me and my fellow Mo’s get to grow glorious mustaches to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. So far, I’ve raised $10 and me and Wolfman’s team has raised $35 total.  Hopefully this post will change that.  Even if you pledge a dollar, that makes a difference. To check out my Mospace, head to: http://mobro.co/adamthomas3 Our team’s…

The Fans are Chanting Barry…Manilow

1.) I watched exactly one pitch of the World Series yesterday, and luckily for me, it was Pablo Sandoval’s first home run.  Good stuff. But, sorry World Series, baseball is boring and I had AMC’s Halloween marathon to keep me busy. With that being said, did anyone else see the clip on Deadspin? If not, let me summarize. Barry Zito has just hit an RBI single (I think) and here is where it gets interesting, allow me to post the transcript between the wonderful (sarcasm) announcers Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Buck: How about Zito? And how about 4…
