McNabb Frolics in the Ocean

You know, it gets kind of hard to write these posts sometimes. There’s only so much to talk about on a weekly basis.  And I’m lazy. But every once in awhile, a video comes along that changes EVERYTHING!  This week, that video came as I was listening to Dave Dameshek’s superb NFL.com podcast (for those of you who have never heard Dameshek, do yourself a favor and give him a listen. High comedy). If you haven’t seen the video, just follow this link. (Again, too lazy to imbed but maybe Randy will after I post this). The highlights of…

Always Finish Strong

The past week has had some incredible finishes. Let us review them, shall we? First, I’m going to jump back to the Sixer’s win over the Bulls to clinch the series. I couldn’t imagine a better finish. Our “star” player who’s struggled at the line all year completed two free-throws in the final seconds to win the game. I remember texting Adam during that time and saying something like, “If Iggy misses these….” Imagine if he did miss them. I’m pretty sure he would have been murdered ala Andres Escobar style when he returned to Philadelphia. It would have…

Dear Kyle Kendrick

You may be the antithesis of a ‘developing’ pitcher. For years, I have heard many an analyst say that you will one day emerge as a elite starting pitcher in the major leagues. Players have gotten your back, reporters, teammates, everyone defends you. This has probably been going on for six years. Not only have you not been improving, you’ve been getting worse. It’s remarkable that with how different our team looks compared to our 2008 World Series winning lineup, you have somehow managed to remain on the roster and retain Charlie Manuel’s stubborn faith that you will be…

It Doesn’t Matter If You Win by an Inch or a Mile….

Enjoy it while you can, New York, because you guys are going to lose to the Heat, one way or another. Seems like the only way the Knicks are capable of beating Miami is if Carmelo scores 40+ points. This isn’t going past 5 games. Cole Hamels admitted to intentionally drilling Bryce Harper in the 1st inning of last night’s game. I dig it. That Harper kid has done some awesome things in his major league debut (which… for all intensive purposes is a year-long debut), but there is always that chance that the adrenaline stops flowing and the…

Don’t Trust the Property Brothers

The title says it all: Do not trust these two sneaky Canadian magicians.  Let’s back up first. I think that it’s been chronicled here many times my love of HGTV.  I know this is a weird way to start off a “sports” blog, but I’ve been meaning to write about these two for quite some time. See, every Saturday morning, I have my 4 cups of coffee, have my bagels, and turn on HGTV to watch the “Property Brothers” show. And you know what I’ve decided?  I would not hire these guys.  Don’t get me wrong, they do good…

Jrue Holiday is Selling his Jerseys at Modells

Shout out to Wolfman for letting us know. This is pure gold. The best part might be when Jrue thinks the little girl is looking for a “Holiday” jersey, but she really wants at Roy Halladay jersey.
