Spiraling Down the Halls of Boredom

It’s just another bland Tuesday. The OKC are taking on the Dallas Mavericks tonight and from what it sounds like, everyone has their money on the Mavs. I don’t know what to think of this series. Oklahoma had some trouble getting past the Grizzlies, but I credit that more to Memphis than anything else. They were a young team with very little to lose playing their hearts out. Oklahoma had a lot to deal with. Dallas is just a team that I can never believe in. I can’t bring myself to say “Dallas is going all the way this…

Rickie Weeks & Yuniesky Betancourt’s Double Play

This is a pretty awesome web gem. Happened a few days ago and I wanted to do some youtube searching to find the vid. Normally people have to videotape the television instead of directly recording to avoid copyright infringement (which to be honest, I never understood how that worked.) These guys found a much, much, much funnier way of making a copyright violation-free youtube video. Well done gents. Plus it sounds like they’re swearing!!

The Defense Is Killing Me Inside

So the huge pitchers duel from Josh Johnson and Roy Halladay lived up the hype last night (sarcasm.) Yeah, they pitched great, but the Phillies lost, so it’s still a let-down in my eyes. Having Josh Johnson in a fantasy league didn’t help either. You want him to do great, but so great that he still loses. I’m like Tupac with all my inner conflict. How many innings does Roy Halladay plan on pitching this year?? Seriously. I get that he is a work-horse, the man wants to pitch all the time, but he’s pitched for 61.1 innings so…

RAUUUUUUUUL and the Juice

Ok, I’m not saying that Raul Ibanez takes steroids…. because he doesn’t. In fact, when he joined the Phillies in 2009 and had that stellar first half of the season, accusations were flying that Ibanez was juicing to revive his career and Raul took great offense to it. He’s never tested dirty. But since then, Raul has been slumping through 2.5 seasons riddled with injuries and horrible at-bats. The “RAUUUUUUL’s” quickly turned to “BOOOOOOs” this season during his 0/31 slump. His offensive production hasn’t really been the same since returning from that 2009 All-Star Break injury. This year he’s…

Ya’ll Wanna Talk About Flyers Hockey??

Yep. I guess I do. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m an absolute amateur when it comes to hockey. I barely know the Flyers roster, let alone all 30 teams in the NHL. But, it’s playoff time, and some things are standing out to me that I gotta talk about. The Flyers are down 2-0 right now to the Boston Bruins in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Yes, this is a lot like last year. We are in the same round of the playoffs, playing the exact same team, and digging ourselves almost the exact same…

Phillies and Fans React To Osama Bin Laden Death (UPDATE)

The Phillies game from last night against the Mets is getting more coverage than usual on a national level because of the chants that broke out during the game. Fans attending Citizens Bank Park last night started a “U-S-A” chant when learning of the news that Osama Bin Laden had been killed. You could watch as the news spread throughout the stadium and the cheers grew louder. Players soon learned after. Here is video of the players’ reactions post-game. Provided by CSNphilly.com Update : Ok… either CSN did a switcharoo on me or I just grabbed the wrong vid…

76ers Toughest Test of the Year

Well the Flyers won yesterday, advancing to the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Sixers… well… they have a lot more work cut out for them if they hope to reach the same accomplishment. Last Sunday, the Sixers were able to something they haven’t done all year… beat the Miami Heat. Tonight, Philly fans are hoping they accomplish another goal not yet achieved… win in Miami. If they do win tonight, the flood gates will open up. The lashing the Heat received from the media after their Game 4 loss probably irritated them, so if Philadelphia actually does manage…
