Magic Johnson is Shrek; Pryor Skips Senior Season

Can you hear that chewing noise? That’s me, eating my words from last week. The Dallas/Heat series is tied up, and every game has been remarkably close. I’m still sticking to my guns in regards to the Heat winning the NBA Finals, but maybe this will carry to game 7 and actually be a good series. Sometimes I forget that David Stern cares about revenue, and more games = more ad revenue. I can’t even break this series down very well because both teams are shooting poorly. It’s low scoring, smothering defense that’s taking the forefront of play, and…

Random Thoughts

Some days you wake up and the sun is shining and all is right with the world.  But let’s rewind a bit first. Last night I saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at the Wilmington Grand Opera House, and after an incredible 3 hours of the best musicianship I’ve seen in quite some time (the thrill of seeing the Flecktones is knowing that you’re going to see arguably the best banjo player in Fleck and arguably best bassist in Victor Wooten, and Vic’s brother Future Man and his drumitar and nifty hat), it was time to go home. James is a scary man (aside from that very feminine embrace he had with…

Spiraling Down the Halls of Boredom

It’s just another bland Tuesday. The OKC are taking on the Dallas Mavericks tonight and from what it sounds like, everyone has their money on the Mavs. I don’t know what to think of this series. Oklahoma had some trouble getting past the Grizzlies, but I credit that more to Memphis than anything else. They were a young team with very little to lose playing their hearts out. Oklahoma had a lot to deal with. Dallas is just a team that I can never believe in. I can’t bring myself to say “Dallas is going all the way this…
