Doug Collins, NBA Playoffs, and Iggy’s Comeback Season

It’s been a rough season Sixers fans, but I am thankful to report that with tonight’s game, the season will finally be over. The Sixers play the Pacers in Indiana, just after the recent announcement that Doug Collins will resign as head coach. This was right after his recent announcement that he was not resigning as head coach. That came right after Sixers’ ownership released a statement backing Collins as the head coach of the future. Real classy Philadelphia. There’s a lot of speculation that Collins will remain with the Sixers as a consultant (which is probably what he wanted…

The Masters…

1.) Was awesome. I only watched it on the final day, but man, what a day to watch!  The final between El Pato (aka Angel Cabrera) and Adam Scott was incredible, with Cabrera basically coming within inches of winning it twice (well, once with his chip on the first playoff hole and then barely missing birdie on the second which would’ve put the pressure on Scott). I thought it was awesome that a guy named Adam Scott won and–let me be the millionth person to make this joke–it wasn’t the dude from Parks and Rec. 2.) I read a…

Michael Silver: The Raiders aren’t as lucky as the Colts

Michael Silver wrote an article last night talking about how Carson Palmer doesn’t want to play for the Raiders this year even if they pay him $10 million.  OK. Then Carson Palmer is an idiot, but we already knew this much. What we didn’t know is that Silver somehow got his hands on a ‘document’ from inside the Raiders headquarters comparing the Colts situation to the Raiders last offseason. Now, before I go into how stupid this argument is because the Colts had THE NUMBER ONE PICK IN THE NFL DRAFT WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE ANDREW FREAKING LUCK…

NCAA Picks, Tuck Rule, Lebron

As my dad put it, of course the NFL would wait until AFTER Al Davis passed away until they changed the tuck rule. By the way, with all this talk about the tuck rule, I think people are missing one simple fact: the referee who made the call on the play stated that Brady’s arm WAS MOVING FORWARD. He didn’t even mention the tuck rule. It wasn’t until after the game that they started talking about the tuck rule to mask the fact that they blew the call big time, since Brady had BOTH HANDS on the ball when…

Reggie Miller Tweets About Andrew Bynum

Reggie Miller decided to post his 2 cents on the Andrew Bynum debacle recently and it might be the best summation of the Andrew Bynum situation that I’ve heard all year. The reality, is however, that Andrew Bynum’s career could quite possibly be over. I don’t think Reggie Miller took that into consideration when he tweeted this: Can’t wait to see what lame brain GM will spend max dollars on Bynum next season.Feel bad for Coach Collins, you guys gambled and lost.. — Reggie Miller (@ReggieMillerTNT) March 19, 2013 Coach Collins was really polite and considerate in his address…

Free Agency Winners from….2012

Free agency is always one of the most exciting and mind boggling times of the NFL year. Exciting because players move around nimbly bimbly from team to team, and mind boggling because teams are always declared ‘Winners’ and ‘Losers.’ The fact of the matter is that most of the time, the ‘Winners’ of free agency are still ‘Losers’ when it comes time to play actual football.  Don’t believe me?  Well then let’s take a look at some of last year’s supposed ‘Winners’ according to John Clayton from ESPN. 1.) “The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the 2012 free-agency winners by…

Apple of the Century

1.) Ladies and gentleman, if you are buying McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Cortland, or any other type of nonsense, you need to stop right now. I have found the greatest apples in the world and they are…wait for it….JAZZ APPLES! Holy cow, are they delicious!  They are crispy, crunchy and flavorful and just flat out amazing. I did some research (aka googled it) on the Jazz Apple and it turns out that it is a modern variety of apple developed in New Zealand and is a cross between Royal Gala and Braeburn apples. And before you hippies get all “stop…
